Description
This round is intended for large big game animals such as deer, hogs, bears, and self defense applications.
This round is recommended for hunting and self defense purposes. This load uses the Barnes projectile which was designed to mushroom on impact. These hollow points are designed to “bloom” and open six razor sharp petals which rotate and cut their way through the target as the projectile rotates. This helps to dump a massive amount of energy on impact and reduce over penetration or “pass through” especially on light big game animals like deer when hit in the rib cage area. This load runs at AMV of 2025 AMV FPS and is very smooth to shoot due to the fact is is not over loaded to hit a high speed. If you are looking for speed then take a look at our “Screamer” round.
Like all of our .450 Bushmaster loads this round employs a heavy dual crimp for use in AR platforms. In addition, this round has been resized with a special custom die to increase the neck tension for use with this particular projectile which ranges in sizes of .451+/-. This neck tension further increases the accuracy and performance. This also helps to reduce the bullet jump 450 Bushmaster taper crimps are known for when cycled in ARs.
This round will also function bolt action rifles.
This round has been tested been independently tested in the following rifles and has achieved accuracy of 1″ at 100 yards:
